Hydrocolloid dressings are one of the most advanced medical dressings available. The primary component is a highly hydrophilic hydrocolloid - carboxymethyl cellulose sodium particles (CMC). Together with hypoallergenic medical adhesive, elastomers, and plasticizers, they form the main body of the dressing. The surface features a semi-permeable polymer film structure. Upon contact with wound exudate, the dressing absorbs the fluid and forms a gel to prevent adhesion to the wound. This structure allows for oxygen and water vapor exchange while acting as a barrier against external contaminants like dust and bacteria.

Primary Uses: Care for difficult-to-heal wounds such as bedsores, lower limb vascular/metabolic ulcers, small area shallow II degree burns, skin donor areas, and surgical incisions where contamination risk is present.
