Hydrocolloid Dressing

Hydrocolloid dressing is a special kind of wound dressing used in the treatment of mildly exuding wounds, like minor burns or bed sores. These dressings are waterproof, and unlike simpler dressings, they provide a moist and insulating environment to promote wound healing.

1. Carefully clean the wound and its surrounding area with sterile water or saline solution and dry the surrounding skin gently.
2. Apply the dressing, fitting and shaping it to the wound, exceeding its edges by at least 2cm.
3. If due to the specific condition of the wound, the dressing proves difficult to remove, simply irrigate it with sterile physiological solution.
