Frequently Asked Questions
What is a hydrocolloid wound dressing?
A hydrocolloid dressing is a specialized medical bandage that creates a moist healing environment. It contains gel-forming agents that absorb wound exudate and protect the area from bacteria.
Is this dressing waterproof?
Yes, our hydrocolloid dressings feature a waterproof PU film outer layer that protects the wound from water and external contaminants while remaining breathable.
Can the patches be cut to size?
Absolutely. The 4x4 inch and other large sizes are designed to be easily cut into any shape or size to fit specific wound areas like pimples, heels, or elbows.
How long can I leave the dressing on?
Typically, a hydrocolloid dressing can stay on for 3 to 7 days, depending on the amount of moisture (exudate) the wound produces. It should be changed when it appears white and swollen.
Is it suitable for infected wounds?
Hydrocolloid dressings are best suited for non-infected chronic or acute wounds with low to moderate exudate. For infected wounds, please consult a medical professional.
Does it leave a sticky residue on the skin?
Our dressings are designed to be skin-friendly. While they provide a tight seal, they are made with an upgraded thin material that minimizes residue and discomfort during removal.
